Alzie Lee Byrd, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 85.

Born on January 16, 1940, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Alzie moved to Los Angeles as a young child and made it his home for over 80 years. He attended Jordan High School, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of hard work and dedication. His passion for mechanics led him to a successful career as a diesel mechanic, a profession he truly loved and took great pride in.

Alzie's legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Jaqueline Byrd, of Los Angeles, CA; his cherished children, daughters Jeanne Singleton (Quartz Hill, CA), Vondie Jones (Los Angeles, CA), Sharon Riggins (Fontana, CA), and Ebony Byrd (Los Angeles, CA); and sons Aaron Byrd (Long Beach, CA), United Byrd (Los Angeles, CA), Umetrius Byrd (Los Angeles, CA), and Aljaron Byrd (Los Angeles, CA). He is also survived by his dear sisters, Angela Byrd (Lancaster, CA) and Gwendolyn Kirkland (Lancaster, CA); 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Alzie will be remembered for his strong work ethic, unwavering love for his family, and the joy he found in his career.
