Benjamin, also known as "Sparky," was the epitome of Los Angeles. He was bright and warm like the sun, loud like the waves and kept weaving through the city streets like a breeze. Sparky was an artist, and music and interpretive dance were his muse. May his energy and love of life continue to inspire those who knew him, and loved him.

He is survived by his parents, Ana Maria Hernandez and Santos Benjamin Velasco; his twin sister Ana Y. Carter; his younger sister Vanessa I. Velasco; and his devoted grandmother, M. Esperanza Velasco. He is also remembered by a 20 year community of friends in the Los Angeles metal scene.
