IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Emma Jeanne
Hodnett
November 21, 1927 – February 10, 2026
Emma Jeanne Hodnett, 98, was born on November 21, 1927, in Los Angeles, where she lived her entire life until she passed away on February 10, 2026.
A devoted educator, Emma dedicated her professional life to teaching and shaping young minds. She was a proud graduate of University of California, Los Angeles, an accomplishment that reflected her lifelong commitment to learning and service.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Deeply devoted to her religion, she generously volunteered her time teaching Bible studies, offering guidance and encouragement to many in her community. Emma found joy in simple pleasures—playing Scrabble, watching game shows and court shows—and she remained remarkably active, caring for her physical health and independence even at 98 years old.
She now joins her beloved spouse, Robert, who preceded her in passing.
Emma is lovingly remembered by her children, Dmitria Robidoux and Darrell Hodnett; her grandchildren Darrick, Daniel, Dillon, Dominic, and Louie; her brother Frank Brown and his sons, Charles and Frank Jr.; and the children of her late brother John—Stephanie Brown Maeve, Elise Brown and Firmin Brown, as well as his wife, Laronda, and their son, Evan. She is also survived by many other relatives and a large circle of dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Emma’s life was one of faith, dedication, and enduring love. Her legacy will live on in the many lives she touched.
