IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gabriel Carlos
Bentancourt
September 16, 1981 – July 25, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gabriel Gurule Bentancourt, a beloved son, husband, brother, uncle, and friend. Gabriel passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, generosity, and joy.
Born with an unshakable passion for music and entertainment, Gabriel earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Texas Tech University. He soon set his sights on California, where he moved to follow his passion. Over the years, he appeared in commercials, sitcoms, and films, bringing his unique charm and quick wit to every role. His talent for memorizing movies and reciting them on demand became legendary among family and friends.
Gabriel's love for making people laugh extended beyond the screen—he was also a stand-up comedian who delighted audiences with his humor and spirit. Outside of performing, he was a devoted family man, known for going above and beyond for his loved ones. For his niece and nephews' birthdays, he would dress as their favorite characters, creating unforgettable memories. He also brought joy to children in need by visiting hospitals in costume, brightening the days of countless young patients with his kindness and playful heart. His devotion to family and his compassion for others were unwavering; he would do anything for those he loved.
With his handsome good looks and charming personality, Gabriel was loved by all who met him, and friends and family adored him. An avid fan of 80's music and pop culture, he had a gift for finding joy in life's simple pleasures and sharing that joy with everyone around him.
Gabriel is survived by his wife, Priscilla Bentancourt; his parents, Mary and Charles Bentancourt; his sisters, Stacy Chance, and Laura Bentancourt and her husband, Dan Schilling; his niece, Marissa Schilling; and his nephews, Travis Schilling, Blaise Chance, and Slade Chance.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ignacio & Bersabe Gurule and Jesus & Petra Bentancourt; his brother-in-law, John Chance; and other cherished family members and friends.
Gabriel's light, humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though his laughter now echoes in heaven, its melody will forever play in the hearts that loved him.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, August 21st at 7:00 p.m. and a funeral mass on Friday, August 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lubbock, TX.
