It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John F. Rode, who died peacefully on October 9, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on May 30, 1945, John was the son of Julia McDermott and Halvdan Rode, both of whom predeceased him.

John honorably served his country in the United States Army, and his dedication to his service is a testament to his strong character and sense of duty.

For the last year of his life, John resided in Los Angeles County, where he lived quietly and with dignity.

In accordance with his wishes, John will be buried in a private ceremony at Riverside National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with the full honors of a veteran.

John is survived by his memory and the legacy of his service to his country. While he may not have had immediate family, he will be remembered by those whose lives he touched throughout his life's journey.
