It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Juan A. Monroy Lopez, who left this world peacefully on April 20, 2025, at the age of 55. Born in Sayula, Jalisco, Mexico, Juan's early years were also shaped by the time he spent living in Chiquilistlán, Jalisco. For the past 36 years, he made Torrance, California his home.

Juan dedicated many years of his life working at LAX, where his commitment and quiet strength earned him the respect of his colleagues and friends. Known for his unwavering devotion to his family and his gentle, compassionate spirit, Juan always put the needs of his loved ones before his own. He had a special love for animals and found joy and peace in caring for them.

He is survived by his beloved wife Luz Abarca of Hawthorne, CA, his dear son Andy Monroy of Seattle, WA, and his brother Gabriel Monroy, also of Hawthorne. Juan is also remembered with love by his siblings in Mexico: Aurrelio, Mario, Jose, Maria, Miguel, and Ignacio.

Juan's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. His quiet strength, big heart, and enduring love for his family leave a legacy that will live on in the memories of those he touched.

A private service will be held in his honor. Memorial contributions in Juan's memory may be made to his wife, Luz Abarca, or his son, Andy Monroy.
