Mary Helen Mullaney, affectionately known as Molly, passed away on May 2, 2026. Molly was born on August 21,1943 in Seattle, Washington to Walter Mullaney and Eileen Mullaney, née Twohey. She had a younger brother, James, aka Jim or Jimmy, who predeceased her in 2017.

Molly’s childhood and adulthood was primarily spent in the Pasadena, CA area. She attended catholic schools her whole life and graduated from Sacred Heart of Mary High School in Montebello, CA. Molly’s education was very influential in her life and she was a practicing and devout Catholic. Molly was also an employee for the County of Los Angeles for over 40 years. Her retirement party was an epic event.

Molly lived for her family as was especially close to her brother’s children, Michael Mullaney, Lisa Mullaney, Michelle Aulisio, and Lori Mullaney as well as her brother’s wife, Martha Mullaney, née Estrada. She was extremely involved in the lives of her nieces and nephew. Molly was an accomplished baker, and her cookies were legendary in her family, often causing disputes over who could take extra cookies home from family events. Molly also sent amazing care packages to her family while they attended college, making her celebrated among university students during the 1990s and early 2000s.

Molly truly enjoyed making people feel special. She loved to hand out cards and celebrate birthdays. She was never shy about handing out a compliment or acknowledging an accomplishment. She was very loved and will be incredibly missed.
