About Us
About Our Funeral Home and Our Commitment to You
Our Story
Since 1903, Armstrong Family Malloy-Mitten Mortuary has been a pillar of funeral care in Los Angeles. Founded by Burton Howard Armstrong, it was led for generations by the Armstrong family, most recently by his great-grandson Bob Armstrong, a fourth-generation funeral director. Through a century of change in the city and in the funeral profession, the mortuary adapted to serve families of every culture and background and earned a reputation for professionalism and compassion. That trust was reflected in the honor of being entrusted with the care of Senator Robert F. Kennedy in 1968.
A New Chapter, Rooted in Family
In May 2022, Ken McKenzie and his family became the new stewards of this historic location, joining it with our original home in Long Beach. We are honored to carry this legacy forward, and we do so as a family-owned business. Our guiding belief is the same one that has sustained this mortuary for over a century: serving others in their greatest time of need is a calling, not just a profession.
Still today, our owners and our team of caring, licensed professionals are committed to offering every family unwavering professionalism and compassionate service. Whether you come to us in Los Angeles or Long Beach, we will treat your loved one and you like family. Generations, serving generations.
